The Bravest Flower of All
The bravest flower of all
defies nature’s own agenda
and blooms
in the midst of
the coldest season
when winter’s frozen fingers
grasp at anything they can…
…the buds of the Plum
Or Japanese Ume that
blossom hesitantly one by one
even in the stealth of snow
are so delightful to the eye
at this time of the year
