Author & Artist

Kae is a versatile artist. Her basic style is seen in the paintings in the gallery in this website. However, her style may shift from one to another, depending on her mood or the medium. She calls it “mood art” and mood may change her pattern of painting or drawing from time to time. For instance, there is a certain way of painting as you can see in her acrylics and oils. Then another in the drawings and water colors on paper, as in cards. At times, her mood art takes her to another level of contemporary style art. She only uses this style when someone describes a very abstract proposal. Once she thinks things through, she will try to come up with an idea and it will flow easily to her because everything is from the mind to the fingertips. No patterns to follow, no guidelines and it is total freedom of expression.

When she paints a picture of flowers or animals, she prefers to put them in their natural habitats as she ideally wants them to be free and stay in their place of origin where they are most comfortable.

Kae, who was brought up in Japan in an international setting may integrate the two or three ways in her art. This is evidenced in some of the paintings shown.

Red, a Doberman, was rescued as a teen pup. He was a super smart, wise guy with a keen sense of humor which kept me laughing. This book is a compilation of many stories of his funny antics. It also shows if a dog, no matter how difficult, can be trained with the right dosage of love and discipline.

An excerpt:

“….He was clever enough to somehow figure out that rolling a carpet that was already on the floor meant it could also be rolled back to stay the way it was before.

He must have been considering and planning on how to roll it back while he was watching. As you can imagine, for a dog, this took a bit of creative thinking on Red’s part. One could almost hear his brain ticking as he watched stealthily from that corner. We could not believe how patiently he waited until Benny was done rolling the carpet. Red had enough sense of humor to show Benny that what he intended to do was going to be a funny one too so that Benny really could not get angry with him. That was part of this dog’s little scheme. We’ve been told that some Dobermans have a mind of a human six year old and that idea seems a bit difficult for some people to conceive. However, here is just an example of how this breed shows its intelligence.

Because as soon as Benny struggled and finished rolling the heavy carpet and was just about at the end of it, Red dashed out from the corner hiding place to unroll it back with all four paws moving furiously at the same time. So this was how he got his little plan into action…….”
